International Day of Persons with Disabilities

December 3rd marks the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, with this date having the main objective of promoting the rights and well-being of people with disabilities in society and their participation in various areas, such as: social, cultural , economic and political.
 
This day was implemented on December 18, 1992, being adopted by the United Nations General Assembly. And in 1998, the United Nations came forward with the first convention on the rights of people with disabilities. From that date on, on December 3rd, the rights of people with disabilities began to be celebrated annually.
 
This International Day marks the commitment to work with people with disabilities to build a sustainable, inclusive and transformative future, including men, women and children with disabilities, so that they can reach their potential.
