Covid-19. New platform strengthens health care delivery

According to a statement released by the Shared Services of the Ministry of Health (SPMS), the “RSE Live” platform comes “to strengthen the capacity to provide health care to the Portuguese during the pandemic period of the disease caused by the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2).

This new "telehealth" platform will guarantee “quality in follow-up and follow-up consultations for users of the National Health Service (SNS)”.

According to the note, "consultations can be carried out remotely, using new information and communication technologies, if the doctor understands and the user accepts".

The platform will allow the doctor to consult the user's clinical process, analyze results and also the prescription of drugs and request for clinical and laboratory tests.

To be able to access this new type of consultation, users only need a computer “with camera and sound” and to be registered in the Citizens Area of ??the SNS Portal.

These teleconsultations “have already started at the Hospital Dr. Francisco Zagalo, in Ovar. Next are the Hospital Center of Póvoa de Varzim and Vila do Conde.

This platform will be gradually extended to “the remaining hospital and primary health care units”.
